Does anybody want to guess why ash doesn't have pikachu use thunder anymore? Pikachu probably would have won more matches if he used it.

In the anime Thunder is a powerful move, it's kind of overkill.

thunder was rplaced by volt tackle......at first I thought he replaced quick attack but then I saw the battle with lucy

Indeed it doesn't, it's not like he's going to kill the pokemon so it makes no sense why it's never used anymore as a last resort.

Pikachu had better get back to using Thunder, because in my opinion, Thunder is more powerful than any other electric attack. Volt Tackle may be just as powerful, but it has recoil damage, which Thunder does not.

And whatever happened to Agility? That's Pikachu's main move of evading attacks.

and thunderbolt may be weaker but it's more reliable

and volt tackle doesnt even seem to really hurt pikachu

Pikachu has never taken recoil from Volt Tackle and Pikachu doesn't need to use Agility, it dodges the same exact way with Quick Attack.
