WHAT! I'm posting just a day after the episode aired? Either this means that JUDGEMENT DAY HAS COME!... or I finally stopped being lazy... for some reason I don't think either answer is correct so let's just say it's a blue moon occurrence and move on.

Really liked the episode, the Cilan and Trip episode was both good and shocking (they make Shell Smash look so broken in the anime). We go through the rest of the Day 1 battles with the most interesting one being between Cilan and Trip and their Dwebble and Gurdurr. However let's not spoil what happens and instead jump to Day 2 where the random match-ups have made Ash and Georgia the first ones to battle today. Though despite being a companion's rival Georgia and her Pawniard prove to be a difficult fight for Ash and Snivy. How did Cilan vs. Trip and the other Day 1 battles turn out? What is making Pawniard so difficult for Snivy to battle (other than Pawniard's Grass-type resistance)? And are we really going to have to deal with Burgundy and Bianca throughout the rest of this arc? All these answers (including the unfortunate answer to the third question) is all to read down below (though if you watched the episode you should remember, I mean it aired only yesterday you should be able to remember at least the major details ):

True Friends Beat Each Other's Rivals:
After a summery of the last episode (and the opener and hilariously literal title) Freddy O'Martian and Don George have a pre-battle discussion about Cilan vs. Trip which is just Don George saying that, because he's a Gym Leader, Cilan will be difficult to defeat (though you forget that Trip is Ash's rival and thus there's a 99% possibility Trip will win so he can battle Ash). On the battlefield Cilan says he remembered Trip's battle and Trip says he's improved since then and hopes this battle will be more exciting then he had with Chili. Ash is excited for the battle but Iris says she can't see Cilan losing however Burgundy (you lost, can you just leave now?) says she can and hopes Cilan gets beaten saying she wants her revenge (not really revenge unless you beat him though). The battle starts and Cilan chooses Dwebble and Trip reveals his Timburr had evolved into a Gurdurr (which Ash tells us a second later, I wonder whether I should keep pointing it out or just have the characters do it as they're going to anyway) as Dwebble uses X-Scissor but Gurdurr dodges by lifting itself up with it's steel beam. Dwebble tries a Slash but Gurdurr shoves its steel beam at it which flings Dwebble over Gurdurr back over to Cilan's side as Freddy O'Martian tells us Dwebble isn't able to get close and Don George saying it's good to see a defense like that being used. Gurdurr uses Rock Smash which Dwebble tries to avoid by hiding into its shell but since Dwebble's shell is carved from a rock it gets smashed and starts to crack. Gurdurr tries another Rock Smash though Dwebble quickly crawls away however Gurdurr uses a Stone Edge which hits knocking Dwebble back as Freddy O'Martian comments on it and Don George reminds us Dwebble is weak to Rock-type attacks.

Though one of his friends are losing, Luke is more than happy to film it saying it'll be his greatest movie yet as he shoots Dwebble struggling to get back up... though Bianca interrupts asking Luke where Zorua went. Luke says he can't help now as he's trying to make a movie but Bianca says he can't be making a movie now as Zorua is missing and Luke agrees.

Back to the battle, now that a friend of it's trainer isn't exploiting it's pain, Dwebble gets back us as Trip says he's impressed they aren't throwing in the towel and Cilan commends him on power but now it's his turn and says it's "Re-evaluating time".

Iris: Looks like we're in store for another Connoisseur moment.
Comment: And being Cilan just commended Trip on his training I don't really see a purpose for this "Re-evaluating time".
Burgundy: In Cilan's Re-evaluating time I want him to flunk!
Comment: As bad you you did or wors... oh wait, you lost so he can't do any worse.

Cilan compliments Trip's training of Gurdurr but says him and Dwebble are going to win with offense and defense (as opposed to what? Not attacking and leaving yourself wide open?) though Trip gives a "whatever" and Gurdurr uses a Dynamic Punch though misses Dwebble with each punch.

Since we started this storyline I guess we can't simply ignore it, Bianca is inside looking for Zorua when she sees "Georgia" and asks if she seen Zorua and she shakes her head no. Bianca goes on her way but sees Georgia again and asks her if she's seen Zorua though her brain finally got the message to her that this is the second Georgia she is talking to and the first "Georgia" gives a Zorua laugh, glomps the second Georgia who throws her off, and Zorua transforms back as Bianca runs off and Georgia says something though my video cuts off before she could finish (as if it matters...).

Gurdurr tries using another Rock Smash but Dwebble beats it to it as it rolls out of its shell and uses Shell Smash and then Rock Slide (apparently summoning rocks from the 4th dimension) and hits Gurdurr which Freddy O'Martian tells us and Don George explains Rock Smash (though he did forget to mention Gurdurr resists Rock-type moves). After seeing an angry Burgundy, Ash and Iris roots Cilan on while Gurdurr struggles to get out of the rocks its buried under as Dwebble goes in with a Slash and hits and, despite Trip's pleads, Gurdurr faints giving the win to Cilan (... well I said Trip only had a 99& chance of winning, turns out this was the 1% I didn't mention)! Cilan thanks Dwebble as Trip takes a picture of them explaining he's chronicling his journey and so he doesn't forget this defeat before walking off. "Luke" comes up to Cilan with his camera giving a Zorua laugh (if you couldn't already tell who it is from the strange smile) as Cilan asks if he has any questions though the real Luke runs up and takes his camera back as Zorua transform back and gives a laugh.

Burgundy is raging now (hey, I guess since Ash defeated his rival Cilan decided to return the favor) as Bianca comes up to Ash and Iris saying she's still looking for Zorua and Ash tells her that her battle is next as Stephan reminds her she's up against him and tells Ash that he'll battle him next (I think the random match system would have something to say about that) and this seems to annoy Bianca. We're thrown right into the match and see Minccino is using it's typical strategy of Tickling its foes down and then hitting Zebstrika with Tail Slap and Hyper Voice but Zebstrika gets tired of this and uses Shock Wave and Stomp to defeat Minccino and give the win to Stephan (who still can't catch a break as the referee also says his name wrong). Bianca checks on Minccino whining it isn't fair (oh just go back to chasing Zorua, that seems to make you happy) and we quickly cover Luke's battle who's Golett beats a Darmanitan with a Shadow Punch and we even skip over IRIS's match where Emolga Attracts and Hidden Powers a Watchog (who would have thought the guy who dresses like a Watchog would use a Watchog) to defeat giving Iris the win.

You'd Think It'd Be Calmer Behind Scenes:
Round 1 is over and we see that the characters who (that we care about) made it into the second round are Ash, Cilan, Iris, (I could pretty much the list right there to be honest but I'll list the others too) Georgia, Stephan, and Luke as Don George tells them Round 2 will start tomorrow and they should go to the Pokemon Center to heal their Pokemon. At the Pokemon Center, Ash finds Trip and asks where he's going and he says that with Gurdurr healed he has other things to do (Ooh, can you take Burgundy with you? You can also take Bianca if you want but she hasn't quite reached the minimum annoyance levels... yet) but Ash tells him the 2nd Round starts tomorrow.

Trip: Yeah, well so what? Look it's not like my Pokemon are going to become stronger just from watching other people have battles. Basic stuff.
Comment: Yes, because seeing other strategies, moves, and skills from people who advanced in a competition you got knocked out of couldn't quite help you learn or use said strategies, moves, and skills to further your own training. Basic stuff.

Cilan tells Ash "to each their own" and people have to be the way they are (even if they do come off being complete jerks) and Ash asks Trip the next time they meet they should have a battle and Trip just answers with a "whatever" wave.

That night Ash & co. are enjoying their dinner when Stephan with a plate filled with food and sits down and joins them saying he's loading up for tomorrow when Ash says he could be battling him, yells, and fills his plate up with food and both begin a race to stuff their faces. Iris calls them both kids before realizing there is a second "Iris" behind her though after hearing the Zorua laugh Iris realizes it's Zorua (NOOOOO, REALLY?). Of course with Zorua here Bianca is too and she tries to convince Zorua to eat with her with a pizza, salad, or desert however Zorua transforms into Axew, takes Axew by he hand, and runs around. Axew starts yelling at Zorua and despite it being easy to know which one is which this is Bianca we're talking about here and she picks up the real Axew as Iris gets into an argument with Bianca if that's Zorua or not. As Axew gets pulled apart Luke comes backing in excited about the behind the scenes footage he's getting and Zorua transforms back and appear at his feet and he says he was wondering where it went. Luke tells it to stop wandering off however Bianca has seen it and lets go of Axew causing Iris to fall back and Bianca starts chasing Zorua again who runs out of the cafeteria. Oh, and Ash and Stephan are still working on getting a stomach ache.

Now with a cartoonish big belly, Ash lays down on his bed as we see Dwebble is repairing its shell.

Iris: Wow, you're fixing your home?
Comment: No, it's spraying it with flammable fluid to light it on fire.

Dwebble finishes fixing its shell and Cilan says that's good as he might need it to be ready tomorrow though Burgundy shows up and tells Cilan that he doesn't need to be ready as any pairing he brings to battle tomorrow will be a mistake. Cilan asks her why and Burgundy says he'll have the worst tasting battle and be defeated just as she predicted in her re-evaluation.

Ash: Doesn't she ever give it a rest.
Comment: Ash pretty much said what was on my (and everyone else's) mind.
Cilan: She proves there is a thing as too much spice.
Comment: More like bitterness and sourness.

Next day Ash & co. get to the stadium with Ash all pumped up though Georgia shows up and tells Iris that she actually gotten a bit stronger and says that's a good thing for a Dragon Buster as it'll make beating Iris worth wild though Iris tells Georgia "in her dreams" and they start arguing. Cilan nervously says they should calm down when a second "Georgia" pops up and Iris uses "her" as a puppet getting Georgia angry and Zorua transforms back though Georgia finishes things by saying when she battles Iris then she'll so how strong she is and Iris also yells back that she'll see.

Ninja'd By A Samurai, Black Knight, Sentei, Kamen, Kaijin... Thing:
Freddy O'Martian announces that Day 2 is here and the crowd erupt in cheers as the next matches are chosen and they are Ash vs. Georgia (I guess Ash is taking out both his ally's rivals, guess the writers want to point out that only the main rival can give the main character problems), Iris vs. Stephan (being Stephan is technically one of Ash's rivals I guess much like Cilan did with Trip, Iris will do with Stephan), and Cilan vs. Luke (now that should be interesting)... oh, and the two other NPCs are battling each other.

Ash vs. Georgia starts up right away with Ash choosing Snivy and Georgia choosing Pawniard as Don George says it'll be interesting to see how Ash and Snivy will handle Pawniard's skill in close-range fighting and Freddy O'Martian asks to let see who will be going on the semi-finals. Snivy uses Leaf Storm but Pawniard uses Metal Claw and cuts the Leaf Storm to pieces and Cilan says he never saw a Metal Claw that sharp as Iris cheers on Ash and Snivy. Snivy uses another Leaf Storm but Pawniard dodges and gets close to Snivy to hit with a Metal Claw sending Snivy back as Luke gets worried asking how Ash will win and Stephan says it's all about spirit (I like how everyone's rooting for Ash, it's like they know he's the main character and thus will be the most likely winner). Snivy uses Attract but as it hits it has no effect shocking everyone that Pawniard is a girl as Pawniard does a girly twirl and Georgia says it took them long enough to figure it out (how can they know, Pawniards don't have gender differences, actually the only Gen V Pokemon with gender differences are Unfezant, Frillish, and Jellicent and they're very drastic). Pawniard uses Iron Head but Snivy jumps and dodges and hits the rocks which Pawniard sent flying up with Vine Whip sending them toward Pawniard and hitting and even getting one stuck on its horn. Pawniard struggles to get free of the rock and Freddy O'Martian asks if Ash and Snivy is making a comeback which Stephan says of course they are and for them to get ready to battle him (When? You're lucky we got to see you a second time, you'll be lucky if we see you anytime before the Pokemon League... unless you think you're going to beat Iris which is silly to think ). Snivy starts laying down Vine Whips and then goes into a Leaf Blade but that seems to be what Pawniard was waiting for manages to get up and use the Leaf Blade to break the rock on Pawniard's horn. Georgia decides she wants to "wrap things up" and Pawniard uses Guillotine though Snivy dodges and Cilan explains it's a OHKO move and asks Ash to be careful. The smoke clears and Pawniard starts rushing at Snivy who tries hitting with a Vine Whip but misses though when Pawniard jumped into the air Vine Whip grabs it and tries to slam it on its head but Pawniard manages to flip itself around and lands on its feet. With Vine Whip still wrapped around it Pawniard swings around and tosses Snivy back stunning it as Pawniard starts up another Guillotine.

However the narrator is here and being I don't think I can outdo his "checkmate" quip I'll end things off right here.
