Ash and Pikachu are back! With a new Journey that we all know will end in him losing the league but we still watch anyway

New rival Trip and new Eye ca...female traveling partner Iris!

so..who liked the opening...it was short, but the song was good and they didn't ruin the song by editing

    This dub looks promising...

I think Trip meant out of towners or out of town hicks.

Iris sounded like the voice of Rurichio from Bleach, and just when that filler arc was over.

So Team Rocket is now compedent and an actual threat, while Ash as regressed. Did they switch intelligence or something?

Worst opening ever. The singing is crap. I suppose the only good thing about the opening is how short it is. Imagine having to listen to 1-2 minutes of that awful singing!

With that out of the way, everything else was fantastic. Team Rocket looking fresh and menacing. Ash actually acting like a kid again. Iris trying to be all cool in front of Ash. You get the point.

Trip sounds like Barry, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Who's That Pokemon returns, and I love that!

All in all, Pokemon: Black and White looks to be a very promising season, and IMO the dub has never been better. True, the opening induces vomiting and seizures, but it's so short that nobody really cares.

I wouldn't say Ash is acting like a child. He's in a new region with new Pokemon he's never seen before. Obviously, it's going to take him a little while to adjust.

Both awesome episodes! Ash starts a brand new journey, meets a brand new rival (Trip) and a brand new traveling partner (Iris).

Sure, the opening is chessy, but they've done worse

Overall I'm very pleased with these two episodes, just as much as I was with the subbed version. Overall I love the Pokemon voices except Woobat, but since it is a bat the voice does fit it. I'm surprised how Deerling sounded so similar to it's Japanese voice despite different names. I was actually surprised That Patrat was Pa-Trat and not Pat-rat, but it was welcomed.

Trip was great, I died laughing when he said the boonies. Never expected that in this show. Iris was great and her voice was great too. Still miss Dawn though.

BTW, IIRC, didn't Team Rocket fly away after they used the smokescreen in the Japanese version?

I really enjoyed these first two episodes. Black & White is already growing on me so that's good. Loved the return of Who's That Pokémon as well. It makes sense considering there's like 300 new Pokémon that people have to learn names for lol. Also, Trip is by far my favorite rival in a long, long time. He's not arrogant (ok well maybe a little) or annoying like Ash's Sinnoh rival (can't think of it right now). I'm excited to see more.

I just saw both episodes, and I liked them both. I totally didn't expect the computer-animated opening, but I thought it was cute, nonetheless. It sort of reminded me of the very first Pokemon episode, when Ash was first starting out on his journey with a Pikachu. I thought it was kind of strange that Iris called Ash a little kid, considering she's probably around his age. Plus, Unova's a new place for Ash, so it'd take a while for him to get used to it. As for Team Rocket, I noticed they're more serious and more difficult to beat. I think I'm going to miss their silliness. One more thing. Did these episodes both air today? I got used to getting one episode each day a new episode first airs, but now, I'm getting the feeling that that's going to change.

I enjoyed them as well, but one thing annoys me. He still can't be 10 after all thats happened. They should age him two or three years.

It's just like most cartoons, the characters never age, it's not THAT insane. :/ You can try to act like he has aged, but no, he has not. Sure he's gone through character development and may have gotten more mature, but that doesn't mean he has aged. Time passes in the anime, characters just don't age though. There's really no further explanation, it's just how it is.

Not a half bad opening, love all these new pokemon and this new start, Team Rocket is more entertaining, and of course the Who's That Pokemon was nice to see after so many years.

Loved the episodes, they were great openers to the new saga. Iris' voice is a tad high IMO, but it's still pretty good. Trip has grown on me already; he's not downright arrogant and aloof like Paul yet still has an arrogant touch to him that makes him interesting. Loving the new Team Rocket, and the return of "Who's That Pokemon?" was a pleasant surprise. I thought the opening was pretty awesome.

Great start to a new journey~ I must say, I'm quite fond of most of the new characters voices, like Iris' voice... I was afraid they'd make it too childish. And Oshawott is just adorable, I can't see why most people didn't like it when it was revealed. When I saw the return of "Who's that Pokemon" I nearly burst out laughing. I wasn't expecting it at all, but I'm glad they brought it back. And finally, Team Rocket's crawled out of their incompetence. This saga is gonna be good~

Got to see both episodes. Have to say, I like what I see. Trip's voice is good, Iris's voice is good, the script seems faithful. All in all, Black and White has potential. I am mixed about bringing back Who's That Pokemon? though...

The opening has grown on me, but it still isn't that good. Well then again, the Japanese opening wasn't exactly a winner either.

New beginning, but why did PUSA have to pull a 4Kids and mention Ash having clean underwear? It happened in the 2nd ep here, and here.

Seems they''re trying to cater to people who say the first series. A throwback if you will. Like Who's That Pokemon?
