Ok, the biggest let down is not even seeing Honchkrow or Mismagius.

Agreed, although it was an okay episode.

Well, while the episode was good, I am a bit confused. I was under the impression the Murkrow and Misdreavus trainers were fighting over possession of that Dusk Stone.
Awesome episode! I just wish that either Murkrow or Misdreavus had evolved though.
Today's episode was brought to you by a one of the new items from Generation IV which just so happens only effects two Pokemon that are both from Generation II! Okay, enough of that (though I do mention it again in the review), today's episode wasn't that exciting, just a typical filler. At least they found a way to connect Generation IV to Generation II, though I betcha we won't be seeing an episode featuring a Dawn Stone (which just so happen to only work on two Generation III Pokemon)... well, maybe not until Generation V if they decide to bring all generation into 3D (I'll also bet it'll have a similar storyline). Anyway another bust of this episode is that after searching for the Dusk Stone we don't see Murkrow or Misdreavus evolve from using it (I don't care if it's hinted at that it'll be used for that, we don't see it on screen). Anyway here's my review:
A Dusker Solution:
* Even with Brock's new toy, the PokeGear, Ash & co. still get lost. *sigh* And even better, they find a Murkrow...
* Well Brock, a Murkrow flying over your head at night would be something to worry about... if it wasn't for the fact we can see it's day! Even Ash points this out!
* But then again, being it was Ash that pointed it out, that automatically makes it wrong with the ground beginning to shak... GIRATINA (Altered Forme)! WELL THAT'S RANDOM!
* Why was Ash taking out his Pokedex? HE MET GIRATINA TWO (2) TIMES ALREADY! Anyway after running away they are then washed away by a flood... okay, I think they should check the trees for Stantler...
* Nevermind, it was actually a Confuse Ray from Murkrow. How do we know, the character-of-the-day told us, a girl which Brock soon flirts with and which signals Croagunk.
* The girl's name is Rhyanna and the Murkrow is actually her brother's, Mitchell (cue seen Murkrow flying back to Mitchell). Rhyanna doesn't know why Mitchell is doing this, though we do see a flash battle between the two and see Rhyanna beating Murkrow with a Misdreavus.
* Ignoring the need to point out the Generation II Pokemon and also that if Murkrow knew some Dark-type attacks it would probably be able to defeat Misdreavus which is weak to Dark-types...
* After losing so many battles, Mitchell decided to go up to the mountains to train (um... being he looks younger then 10 did his parents give him permission to do that?) and soon after began playing pranks on travellers. Rhyanna had tried to talk to him but Mitchell keeps trying to run away so...
* ... Rhyanna decides to find a Dusk Stone, evolve Misdreavus into a Mismagius, and cast a spell on Mitchell to make him happy... wait, what? Well at least it'll hold Mitchell still so she could talk to him.
If You Can Read This, You Are Probably Already Falling:
* Brock volunteers Ash & co. to help Rhyanna, and Team Rocket plans on stealing Mismagius and the Dusk Stone so they can have "happiness". Jessie then begins collecting rocks around her thinking they'll turn to Dusk Stones since "Dusk" is around the corner... yay..
* However James then comes out with a pair of Dowsing Rods (aka Itemfinder/Dowsing MCHN, then again maybe not) to look for the Dusk Stones.
* Rhyanna leads Ash & co. to a shrine where Dusk Stones were once mined and they split up (Ash with Dawn & Brock with Rhyanna (Brock gave the split up orders BTW ), and they begin searching. Also, Dawn, shouldn't the Poketch come with a Dowsing Machine App?
* Brock and Rhyanna use Misdreavus to look for the Dusk Stone on the theory that since it and Murkrow are the only Pokemon that evolve from Dusk Stones, they might have a certain "attraction" to Dusk Stones.
* Ash and Dawn meanwhile just look for the Dusk Stone (guess Dawn didn't download that app) and are attacked by Murkrow, which Pikachu then knocks out. Mitchell soon comes out and Ash and Dawn tell him that Rhyanna is worried about him and is trying to evolve Misdreavus to a Mismagius to make him happy with a spell.
* Brock and Rhyanna continue to follow Misdreavus while Team Rocket continue to follow the Dowsing Rods which split with James noting "any closer and we'll be behind it". Groucho Marx reference?
* Then soon after Team Rocket fall down a hill. However they come to a mine and begin looking for Dusk Stones... outside of the mine *faceplam*. And Meowth, wasn't your plan for stealing the Dusk Stone to evolve a Misdreavus to a Mismagius? Are we to take it that when you first thought it up you weren't going to give it to Giovanni?
* Of course, Team Rocket first need a Misdreavus and apparently forgot about the one Rhyanna has... which was the reason why they came up with the Mismagius plan! However Team Rocket are soon reminded of this with Mismagius coming flying overhead. But then Brock and Rhyanna begin sliding down the cliff... (thank you Mismagius *roll* )
All The Hype, But No Evolution:
* Mitchell soon tells Ash and Dawn that he is looking for a Dusk Stone and that Rhyanna just wants a Dusk Stone to evolve Misdreavus to Mismagius so that she could continue on beating him. We then go to a flashback of Mitchell pummeling Murkrow with balls trying to teach it Wing Attack (you know, instead of Dark-type attacks which are better to use on a Misdreavus).
* However Murkrow kind of got tired of beating hit over and over again by balls so flew off and stopped listening to Mitchell. Ash and Dawn soon set him straight that he should of thought about Murkrow's feelings and tearfully apologizes to Murkrow.
* Back to Brock and Rhyanna, after recovering from their fall they soon find Mismagius looking at a rock and lifting said rock up they found a Dusk Stone! (Why bother having a mine if you're not going to have anyone look inside it?) But Team Rocket then steals Mismagius and demand for the Dusk Stone.
* Everyone sees a giant Pidgey with hinges and windows and no one can figure out it's a robot? Brock even wonders if it's Team Rocket's!
* Anyway Team Rocket jumps into the Pidgey Mech and after knocking down Sudowoodo they try to steal the Dusk Stone but also pick up Rhyanna as they are flying off. Ash, Dawn, and Mitchell then gets to the scene and send Staraptor and Murkrow to go save Rhyanna.
* As Team Rocket turn back to get the Dusk Stone, Murkrow then goes to save Misdreavus and once that is done Pikachu destroys the Pidgey Mech and sends Team Rocket blasting off (what, did Meowth not make the Pidgey Mech attack- and electric-proof?)
* And with Rhyanna and Mitchell having made up, they decide whoever wins the most battle out of 10 would get the Dusk Stone to evolve their Pokemon and Ash & co. continue on to Sunyshore City. (Would have still liked to see Murkrow or Misdreavus evolve though).
