Oh i get it, it's funny cuz most pokemon names ARE lame puns! *finishes being that guy that explains the jokes*

Not that much of news, at least that matter to us, but Zekrom and Reshiram are flying alongside Pikachu in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. NBC 9 am, i guess on Thursday.

BELLEVUE, WA-- Turkey, pumpkin pie and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®; Thanksgiving traditions shared by millions of Americans across the country. One Thanksgiving tradition is commemorating a milestone in 2010 -- Pikachu! The Pokémon Company International announced today that the world renowned Electric-type Pokémon™ will celebrate its 10th anniversary participating in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Accompanying Pikachu in New York City will be two brand new Legendary Pokémon, Reshiram and Zekrom, from the highly anticipated Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games launching worldwide spring 2011 for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems.

For their debuts, Reshiram and Zekrom will each stand an imposing 14 feet tall, a dramatic kick-off to exciting, never-before-seen Pokémon reveals, news and events all tied to the launch of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games. Pikachu's balloon handlers will also celebrate the upcoming games, dressing the part in black and white uniforms.

"Pikachu's participation in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of our favorite events of the year and we're proud to have been involved in such an iconic event over the past decade," said J.C. Smith, director of Consumer Marketing for The Pokémon Company International. "Having Reshiram and Zekrom join the Pikachu balloon makes this year's parade extra special for us as we begin to reveal more exciting details about the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games."

In the coming weeks and months, Pokémon fans can get exclusive information about the brand new titles by visiting www.PokemonBlackWhite.com, launched this week. Exclusive details will be added frequently leading up to the spring launch of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games.

This brings me back to the reason, don't **** when you don't know something. They didn't make pre-evolutions and evolutions of older pokemon for a reason.

Oh, that's amusing that you think people would care enough to know jack **** about something like Pokemon.

So if you know the reason, answer the question instead trying to *** .

While I do understand the whole "disconnecting", I still think they should have introduced some new evolutions/pre-evolution. If the regions are "placed" in the Pokemon World where the places they are based on are in real life, that would mean IsshUnova is half way around the world from the Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh region (pretty much meaning they are the furthest away possible) so I would think SOME older Geneartion Pokemon would go through interesting "mutations". I mean, not even everyone's favorite genetic unstable Eevee remains unaffected from getting new evolutions? Heck, they could use it being half way around the world to introduce the Physical-type Eeveelutions!

    Oh well, next Generation.

I'm glad someone on this forum understands. And you have a very excellent point, Pikachu! It further supports the whole "disconnecting" thing. They didn't even have a damn Eevee evolution.

So why didn't they make any evolutions/pre-evolutions of previously existing Pokemon? If you know the answer to this question, then please tell us!

No, I didn't mean it like that. There are a lot of Pokemon whose names are puns and portmanteaus, but most of them sound cool or cute when said like Charmander... But Tepig just sounds meh to me, and like they didn't even try to come up with a cool one... Hence, a lame pun.

It's because we saw all of them in sprite form first. Now that we have the official artwork most of them look good. I'm planning on getting Black and White and the eventual third version and narrowing my choices down to 18 was hard. too many good ones to choose from. The bird fossil is weird but the turtle is awesome!

the turtle looks AWK! also, I love the Ice Dragon/Gray mascot. there are wayyy too many to choose from. I'm kind of undecided which to get first, maybe Black. hmm. I usually try to wait til the third version to play with my favorite team. it'll be hard waiting, but I'll be patient

the full hour it took me to do this, I got a little more excited LOL

Didn't they do that with the 3rd gen minus Wynaut and Azurill?

That's great they wanted to make a fresh start but there's still that disconnection there. Its just disappointing not to see some of the previous pokemon links.

It's not even bad, your like the only person I've seen making a big deal out of this. I am only disappointed with the fact that the people in the games have the same people... half the Plasma battles involved battling Minezumi or Miruhogs. Not to mention how many Choreneko/Lepardasu's I say when playing White. As for Gen V not being linked to any previous Generation, I don't mind, I just wished they added a few previous generation Pokemon to the Unova Dex, so at least there can be more diverse teams in the games.

Not trying making a "big" deal. Just disappointed that they disconnected in that way.

But go check out some other sites/forums and you'll see other people complaining.

You're disappointed? In every game, most of the grunts always have the same pokemon.

That's what I was talking about when I said disconnected. They didn't tie in any previous generations

I thought you were complaining about Gen V not having any pre-evolution/evolutions with previous generations? What I am disappointed about is that Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu, Zubat/Golbat/Golem, Machop, Machoke, Machamp, Magikarp/Gyarados and a few others weren't added, I could care less if there wasn't any cross-gen evolutions.

Why so disappointed? If they didn't take the time to make previous ties, why would they bother adding those Pichu/company?

"Didn't take the time to make previous ties"? You really don't have a clue what you're talking about, do you? You meet the foreign Team Rocket member from GSC/HGSS in Kanto in these games, in his home country, how's that for a tie to a previous game? No, they don't have old Pokémon in the Unova dex, and no, they haven't created any evolutions or pre-evolutions of old Pokémon, but there's so much more to it than all of that. For a start, a great number of old Pokémon are available in-game post-League, with nearly all available through the Dream World, and I'm not sure, but you may be able to trade in more older Pokémon before you beat the League from a BW cartridge that has, like in Generation IV (can anyone confirm/disprove this?).

Furthermore, this is simply providing a new experience, completely fresh, something that a brand new player could jump into and catch on without a problem. This generation's brought so many brilliant new Pokémon, so many brilliant new opportunities, whilst still letting you do everything you could in Generation IV.

In-universe it makes sense because Unova is right on the other side of the world to all previous regions (though I'd personally like to think Orre is nearer to Unova than it is to the rest...), so of course it'll be vastly different to previous regions. Animals you find in Japan will be at least somewhat different to those you'd find in America, even if they're fairly similar, and that's seen in Pokémon like Mamanbou & Emonga.

But if you're so keen on more ties to older games than the many bits of brilliant trivia, as well as more important details placed in the games, feel free to just go play older games, none of us will stop you. Just leave the new stuff, the progression, to those of us who wan it, including the millions that have already bought it, breaking both pre-order records & initial sales records.

why yes, was aware of that... but since the StoneAgeVulture is so far in the game, I'm just going to trade it over when I get Black first to my White. same with CuteShiftry-Mini-Me, lol. I hate version exclusives sometimes

edit: I don't really like that Electric Eel Pokemon. any suggestions as to which Poke I should replace it with? I want a strong, intimidating one!

Well yea but I was talking about the Unova Dex, not the National Dex. But whats done is done, I highely doubt they'd do that in the Sister-Game, I won't even bother hoping they'd add previous Generation along with the current Gen V Pokemon in the Unova Dex, I'll admit it won't happen.
