i think they are pure energy to get in the ball, but are pokemon in the ball. cause it looks like its energy when the ball is open, but if the ball is closed, if the pokemon is outside or inside the ball, they are not energy. because, how could a red energy beam fight to get out of a pokeball?

With the pokemon dying concept, it's been said alot that cubone wears the skull of its dead mother.

Of course Pokemon can die! They just won't show it on TV because Pokemon is a show intended for all ages, including children. And showing a Pokemon dead is considered disturbing to kids. That's why they will never show any Pokemon dead (except Latios in movie 5, that kinda surprised me too though).

I doubt that Cubone thing. Its mother would be a Marowak which has a different helmet.

ya, but its the skull. it would get old after a while, plus it would fit differently on cubone, making it look different.

How it fits and how it loosk don't relate ate all. Marowak's skull is different and it can clearly been seen different.
