I try to raise them all equally, but I normally have 3 strong ones and 3 weaker ones, but there is never too big a difference in their levels.
Here's the team I'm raising right now, their on Firered, check it out. Charizard Lv:61, Pidgeot Lv:60, Rhydon Lv:61, Raichu Lv:61, Kadabra Lv: 61, Gyrados Lv:60.
I raise my Pokemon very equaly and fairly.
My current team in Sapphire is my personal favorite...
Breloom (Natsume), Raichu (Mimiru), Absol (Mia), Blaziken (Gardenia), Walrein (Subaru), and Gardevoir (Helba). They're all in the range of level 58-62. And all the nicknames were taken from various female .hack characters.
I used to just raise one and leave the others weak and pretty much just there as placeholders. I didn't even pay attention to type. But that changed when I got Sapphire. I raise 'em all pretty equally now.

It may be easier, but it's tougher to win |

No it's a lot easier to win because when your best Pokémon is down all you have to do is choose a weak Pokémon then use revive on your strongest. |
I love the games! My strongest Pokemon out of all my games is my Charizard Lv:97.Currently all my good Pokemon from FireRed and Ruby are on Emerald.Well here are some names of Pokemon that are either pretty strong or really strong.
FireRed
Charizard Lv:97
Raichu Lv:69
Muk Lv:52
Zapdos Lv:53
Primape Lv:54
Ruby:
Swampert Lv:80
Latios Lv:96(Found it on a used game)
Skarmory Lv:47
Mightyena Lv:53
Dustox Lv:44
Groudon Lv:46
Emerald:
Sceptile Lv:60
Glalie Lv:43
Salamence Lv:50
Rayquaza Lv:75
Groudon Lv:70
Latias Lv:40(that is if I catch it.If anyone knows how to.Some advice on the cheat websites don't help)
On FireRed, upper 70s. Emerald, low 70s. Sapphire, mid 50s. Crystal, mid 90s, Mewtwo LV 100.
Sometimes, I train like this: Their EXP meters will be relatively the same so start with the one with the least and and do the one with the most EXP last. But sometimes I do it by type, like on Ruby right now, I do Fire, Water, and Grass. But I always have all the Pokemon at the same level before leveling up another one.
