In Emerald, the Battle Frontier was in the Hoenn Region, but in the Anime, it was in Kanto. This was partly to advertize for Fire Red and Leaf Green.

In Platinum, the Battle Fronteir is in Sinnoh. Does anyone think that the Battle fromteir of Platinum will be in Johto? Lost of people think that there's going to be a remake of Gold and Silver. That would also explain the Johto starters on the movie 12 poster.
