The latest project under development is a completely new work, coming four years after "Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl" which boasts worldwide sales of over 17,150,000 copies (over 5,800,000 in Japan). It should make an innovative, fresh start by adding even more new game play and new Pokemon.

Fifth Generation?

Okay, being serious, I don't think it's Generation V as a new game usually comes out every new Nintendo Handheld and the DSi doesn't count as a new handheld (though you could counter-argue that HeartGold and SoulSilver was the main Pokemon games for it like FireRed, LeafGreen, & Emerald was for the Gameboy Advance SP).
However they did confirm new Pokemon was coming which also confirms that the mysterious Pokemon in the new movie are indeed new Pokemon (at least I hope it does).

Of course, development is all being done in-house.
Now, Game Freak's development department are eagerly working on development with the aim to exceed every Pokemon game made before now with innovative software!
By the way, for the purpose of giving more information...
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have indeed really sold 17,150,000 copies around the world (5,800,000 copies domestically in Japan).
(Tokyo's population is approximately 13,000,000)

ive heard about this game and alot of people are skeptical about it saying its way too soon to release this. also i dont plan on buying a 5th generation game anyways i JUST completed my pokedex for the first time a few months ago. maybe ill rent it for fun but i think im done with pokemon after heartgold and soulsilver come out. (game wise anyways) i heard that youll be able to travel in between 2 regions again so that should be awesome for those of you that are getting it

woah too many news too little time. so a fifth generation plus a new pokemon series? ok i'm so confused ...lol pardon me. umm a new pokemon game? with the generation V pokemon in it? the epic HG/SS is barely coming out. i think it's too much, but i'm excited nonetheless

Thanks to science i am watching Pokemon Sunday and... uh, a black cook is Z?... and, they left him in the street, but the cook is chasing?.... wait, maybe Lucario played a prank on them? no, now there's a dancer... Japan is freaking weird.
"SUNDAY POKEMON NEWS!!" And there's a chimchar, talking about soem Pokewalker Mystery Gift..... anyway, i think this is the segment where they reveal stuff... oh wait, uh... something, uh, there's a guy, wearing pink tights... and slowpoke mask... saying things, possibly old news?... ok, commercials started.... i'm, more scared.
Kid Vs some, guy with Hitler Stache, the kid has Feraligatr and Togekiss, Hitler Stache guy uses Ho-oh and Groudon. Things look bad for the kid, Groudon just KO'd Togekiss, but the kid, holy freak, he sent a MEWTWO, Ho-oh isknocked down, but Groudon used an Earthquake taking down Feraligatr. It's Groudon and Magnezone vs Mewtwo and Regigigaas, , Groudon is down, Mewtwo is killed by Magnezone, and, so is regigigas!

Too bad the new game won't be for the Wii; I really think it would be awesome if they created mainstream game(s) for that console. Still, it sounds like it'll be awesome. It's kind of hard to imagine how the graphics will surpass those of HG/SS (if they surpass them).

Well if they give it a middle/final evolution it could have been the Dark/Psychic/Fighting Start trio people have been wanting for so long. Oh well, maybe if they ever make another Pokemon Ranger game like Shadows of Almia they might have Zorua be the Dark-type partner.
