Official Upcoming Pokemon Video Games Discussion Thread

    Since there isn't a thread like this, I thought I could create a thread where you can talk about upcoming Pokemon Video Games, such as details the leak out about them. For instance, Serebii has just announced that the next Mystery Dungeon series is going to be called Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky, and the first 5 new starters are Phanpy, Eevee, Riolu, Shinx and Vulpix. It's not 100% confirmed, but more details are going to be coming out soon. Remember people: On this thread, you can only discuss the Pokemon games that are definitely coming, and the details that emerge about them. You cannot talk about games you hope will be created; there is already a thread for that. Now, since the new Mystery Dungeon games are what's next, we can talk about the details that will emerge about them.

    I was thinking of doing the same but I think it should be renamed without the Upcoming Part because it should be about any game, not just the upcoming ones. But well see what SPD thinks but I think it should be a success.

    On to the Mystery Dungeon Part, Phanpy MAY be a starter, which I would like. But I wish Aipom was in there as well. But hey, there may be more starters.

    Well, the only thing else to really talk about the older games is your game team, defeating gym leaders, etc. And we already have a "your pokemon team on any pokemon game" thread for that. Regarding the starters, I'm glad Riolu and Shinx are probably starters, since I think they're cool. I'm guessing that there will be Gen. 5 pokemon in this next series, otherwise, it would basically be the same as Explorers of Time/Darkness.

    I have a feeling it will be the same like any other third Game installement: Some new features, and the same old plot. But we will have to wait more to find out......Check out my signature below.

    Okay people, some new news about Explorers of the Sky has just come out. The 5 new starters (Phanpy, Eevee, Riolu, Shinx and Vulpix) have all been confirmed, and there's a confirmation of about 19 total starters. The game is set for release in Japan in the Spring. The game is also set to be a continuation of Explorers of Time/Darkness. That's all that's known now, but more info is sure to come.

    Apparently it is a continuation of the last Mystery Dungeon Game. I have a feeling they just made this game so there will be a Mystery Dungeon Game for this Generation which has Shaymin, Arceus, and the new introduced form(e)s (Shaymin Sky Forme, Giratina Origin Forme, and Rotom's forms). Speaking of Shaymin Sky Forme, I think it'll have an importent role in all this if the title is anything to go by.

    Oh and guys there is a picture of the game on serebii.net.

    It shows Dusknoir cornering grovile and 4 sablye cornering grovile.

    Weird, that's something that happened exactly the same way in Explorers of Time/Darkness. It could just be a picture from those games, but since this is a continuation...

    But Serebii said that picture i just said was from the new CoroCoro which is coming soon. Although it showed 4 sablye not 6. Because there was 6 but in this picture there is 4.

    Hmm, so maybe this will show what happened to Grovyle after he forced himself and Dusknoir into the future.

    Okay, people, a new page has been opened on Serebii featuring some new info about Explorers of the Sky: Basically, it shows what happens to Grovile the Thief after the storyline of the previous Mystery Dungeon games, as well as how the Wigglytuff Guild comes together. It even lets you play as some of the Guild's founding members, besides just you and your partner. On top of that, it's also expected to feature Shaymin, Giratina, Rotom, and all of their formes from Platinum. More info is yet to come, and it sounds like this game sequal will be pretty good!

    So this sounds more like a "filling in the gaps" story rather then having a seperate whole new adventure. From the Screenshots we so far have, looks like it'll mainly be about Grovyle and what happened after he and Dusknoir were taken to the future. However, in one of the Screenshots I notice you play as an Igglybuff, who wants to take bets who that is?

    Probably Wigglytuff when he was a wee tike. But where did you see these screenshots? I only saw one on Serebii.

    Thats Awsome! But i have a quick Question.

    Once you Defeat Dialga in the 2nd game Grovile said that he wouldnt exsist anymore along with Dusknoir. I noticed that they will be returning in the 3rd game but i thought they didnt exsist anymore?

    Well the story with Grovyle and Dusknoir could simply be what is happening between the time Grovyle forced Dusknoir and himself into the furture and when the player defeats Primal Dialga and restores time to as it should. It can also be possibly that when Dialga restored the player, he also restored Grovyle and Dusknoir, though whether he realized it or not is also unknown.

    It is possible that Dialga restored Grovile and Duksnoir(and apperently sablye) like you said. Lets just hope that he did restore them!

    Since technically Pokemon Platinum is "Upcoming" in the US, I will talk a bit about it. I just pre-ordered it!
