What's wrong with a female Mario? ![]() |
Nothing, except that we already had a female character to choose from for Generation II in Kris who we still don't know if she is in the game or why they replaced her.

Well in Crystal at any rate, in Gold and Silver your only choice was a boy. Though she's considered the female mascot of Generation II.
However, like I mentioned before, I'm afraid them taking her out as main female character might mean they won't have any of Crystal's features. Unlike Yellow, Crystal was a genuine third version so they could include some stuff from it, like Kris (who is hopefully still somewhere in the game, maybe participating in Pokemon Contests?), Eusine, the Suicune side storyline, etc..
I mean, if they're gonna include every Legendary Pokemon that wasn't in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, why take out something which was introduced in that Generation (and no, the answer isn't because they needed room, I'm pretty sure a DS cartridge can handle some added text, "cutscenes", and animation)?

With all the work they putting into HeartGold and SoulSilver, I kind of doubt that.

No one likes her! But I will be starting as the Male, so I don't really care. |
oooooooooh the PERSON soul i thought he meant he didnt like the name soulsilver XD yes i agree 100% i am still highly annoyed that they replaced her she loked cool. usually in a pokemon game i chose a boy in one and a girl in the other but i think ill be making an exception this time

Kinda what I was thinking when I recalled my earlier wait with Platinum. But as I keep saying to myself there will be a massive sweep of details and pictures after Septamber 12th and I even expect this place to be booming a bit around then.
I'll also admit that while the whole new female character thing was unusal when it was first announced and unexplainable as to why Nintendo would do that. But anyway despite this change it doesn't matter to me since it won't hurt my ability to play the game anyway since the important thing is to have fun.

No, the Pokemon Company was just keeping it secret until they decided it was time to announce it.

Filb.de and 2ch.net have recently shown a low-quality video featuring a commercial for the upcoming games Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The commercial promotes the pre-ordering of the games on Saturday, July 4. Due to the quality of the video, not much information can be provided. The things that can be seen in the video include how certain buildings and locations will look like. Some newly-updated gyms can also be seen. The back sprites of some Pokemon are also shown to look similar to the ones in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Previously reported things, like the new Pokedex interface and the screen when choosing a starter Pokemon, also appear. Among the most notable things that can be seen on the video are the entrances of Ho-Oh and Lugia. Their entrances utilized the the capabilities of the Nintendo DS systems more, much like Giratina in the opening scene of Platinum. |

There's the video if someone wants to see it, though it's recorded (likely with a cellphone) in front a kinda small tv, so the quality is indeed very low.
