That's actually a good question.
See, in a month or so we will know, since it's likely that this trilogy isn't canon in the anime, but, in a month with the Team Galactic arc ending, we will find out if the DP trilogy is canon or not, for Dialga and Palkia will appear, if Ash and co. remember or mention anything about the movies we will know that movie 12 did happen, sometime after Ash's battle with Paul and before Dawn gets Cyndaquil.
