Just like the upcoming Shaymin Event, this event will allow people to get a Level 100 Regigigas that knows Iron Head, Rock Slide, Icy Wind, and Crush Grip. According to Serebii, it's description exactly matches the Regigigas given away in Japan. The event will go on from March 8th to March 21st at all Toys "R" Us stores in the U.S. This Regigigas can also be used in Platinum to unlock the special areas where you can catch the Legendary Golem Trio. However, it seems wired that it only lasts till the 21st, when Platinum isn't released till the 20th...

I think it is to boost the hype for Platinum. It's just nice to know before hand that these two events are going to be available. I'm excited.

That's easy. Just put it on Diamond and Pearl, then when the time comes, trade it over to Platinum.

Do you have any friends or family members who has a DS? I'm sure they will allow you to use their DS for a quick minute to transfer the Event Shaymin from your Diamond/Pearl to your Platinum.

As for the event, well even if I did go and get them I'm still not planning on buying Pokemon Platinum. However it would have been nice to have a Shaymin and a Regigigas.

Is there like a line of people for these events? Just wondering, I just don't want to be waiting in line for a long time.
For some reason, I want Regigigas & Shaymin! Toysrus is just a few miles away, so it should be a piece of cake.

No, it's all Wi-Fi now. All you need to do is go to the Toys R Us, turn on you DS, access Mystery Gift, an download it into your game and that's it! You can leave in 5 minutes after entering if you wanted to.

He's crazy! or I don't know. I have pre-ordered it already at GameStop, so I am set but it sucks waiting 2 months for it! I wish it was like Emerald, you didn't have to catch the Mascot. But I don't want to KO it either & I don't want it to be in my Box all its life. Since I don't use Legendaries, only about 0.00001% of the time, I don't know what I will do, guess they will stay in the PC forever.

I didn't buy Emerald, I didn't buy FireRed or LeafGreen, I already have Diamond, and I haven't completed everything in my Diamond yet. Infact the only reason I have Yellow and Crystal is because my brother bought them, however he lost interest in Pokemon after his Gold file got deleted so since then I don't have any of the 3rd version of Generation III and IV.
Does it look awesome? Sure. However it has the same Pokemon pretty much (only Pokemon thye don't have is just forms of existing ones), so there is no need for me to get it. I'm prefectly satisfied with watching videos of someone else playing through (the person playing usually have stronger Pokemon anyway).

Well I don't see how he can wait for the price to drop. It's going to cost only $35 when it comes out. I already preordered platinum and I think the reason for doing this is so the secret caverns in platinum that the japanese used won't go to waste.

To be honest, even if I had Platinum it probably wouldn't be that any different since I doubt I would be able to complete the Battle Frontier, and without the Event Shaymin and Event Regigigas that brings out other features. I lived without getting Emerald, I can live without getting Platinum.
As for me being crazy, me and my imaginary friend talked it over and decided that you guys were all crazy, and s/he's an expert on crazy.

The main reason besides challenging the gym leaders again and the Battle Frontier, is the extended Sinnoh Dex! But then, I planned on using Magby but then I liked using Chimchar better, so I waited until a third 4th Gen Pokemon game would be released. Everything about it seems awesome, now it just comes to waiting for it.
