Ok everyone, it is now March 14, 2010 and HeartGold and SoulSilver are now out in the US! In this thread you can pretty much talk about anything relating to the game. However, please do not post a status update every 5 minutes, please try to limit it to one per day. I'm serious, no one cares how many Sentrets you saw. Have fun playing!

Agree with you there SPD, if fact I also had an idea like this myself, but was also thinking that at some point this thread would have to become locked after a large amount of time has passed such as a month or two after the heat dies down. Hope it goes on for a good while as long as people don't abuse their rights.
But anyway to help with this thread one thing I mentioned in the previous HG/SS thread is April 27th is when the second book is released. This book will have all the Kanto walkthrough and Full Pokedex material for all 493 Pokemon. At least it will have Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus in this book, along with the move tutor listing not just for HG/SS, but also for Platinum as well, since all those moves are back, but with the addition of 14 new moves. Too bad that Prima pushed the release date back a week from its original date but oh well.

I got it earlier today~ *reserved a copy* I just got done with saving all the Slowpoke inAzaleaTown and my Totodile should be evolving soon. I'mloving the new graphics, but I find some of new control changes kinda tedious...
I was very happy to see around 7 or 8 other people waiting to get the games at 10 in the morning. Haven't seen that in years (since at least Gold and Silver). Anyway, I got both games and I'm playing HeartGold first.
My current party is Cyndaquil, Phanpy, Horsea, Togepi, and Mareep. I'd post more details but my battery is now dead from playing for hours on end. The worst is that my battery died right as I was going to battle Bugsy! So for now just one badge. Tomorrow I'll start with the battle against Bugsy.
I just delivered the mystery egg to Prof Elm and training my pidgey.
Heh, posted my first part of the Trainer Log. ATM i'm beating up old men at the Sprout Tower, heheheh.
Got so far only a Female cyndaquil, who i must now press B to not evolve.
I started with a Chikorita and already got one badge, and will likely face Bugsy tomorrow. One thing I was now surprised with is that I've had to complete the Sprout Tower first before being able to complete the Violet Gym, doubt that was in the original games. Also I love how they gave Togepi Extrasensory, makes it easier to raise. Also got Rock Smash and have been using to collect shards to either collect berries, or trade to Platinum for Move tutor moves. Also my Chikorita evolved into a Bayleef. That pretty much is everything I did today but now I'm going to sleep all happy.
One other note is that has anyone seen the "Not for resale" sign on the backs of their DS containers that the games were stored in?
Just got done beating Silver at the Burned Tower, my current team is Croconaw, Flaafy, Butterfree, Hoothoot, Growlithe and I'm gonna start training my Eevee some more whenever my game finishes charging. Anyone try the Poke'thlon thing yet? I lost on the jump part on the first try, its not even funny.
why is it so damn hard to find a stinking hoothoot!?

My favorite new rule for the DS games only is to add not only the starters of that region, but also the starters of another region and I am using the Sinnoh starters as well since as I mentioned before the DS games have no trade requirements. I've already uploaded Turtwig, and Chimchar to Heartgold and have them become Grotle and Monferno, and will in a bit be doing the same thing with Piplup (I actually transfer their eggs).
But anyway I had a chance to do the Voltorb Flip, and its tricky to use since I have to save my coins alot. Removing the slot machine may have in some ways solved legal issues, but taking away the ability to purchase coins was unnecessary, which I will definitely avoid purchasing the more expensive items I can have transferred with my other DS from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
But anyway I have two badges now, and will most likely get my third tonight as well.
