A thousand years ago Arceus stopped a meteor from hitting the earth and wiping out both humans and Pokemon. It did so by tackling it and got badly injured from doing so. However a character named Damos took care and healed Arceus. To thank Damos for his kindness, Arceus promised Damos to make the soil of Michiina rich and the land prosperous. Arceus created a "Jewelled Orb of Life" that did what Arceus promised to do. However this "Jewelled Orb of Life" had to be made by combining the 16 Life Forces within Arceus (the 16 types except for Normal). Damos was suppose to return the "Jewelled Orb of Life" to Arceus at a specific date, but Damos betrayed Arceus, due to a minion of Damos named Gishin who's Pokemon has devilish accessories, and so did not return the "Jewelled Orb of Life". Arceus went into a deep slumber after this, but was still furious at the betrayal of Damos and vowed to judge the human race by his actions when it awakes again.

Thousand of years later (meaning it is now the present), the descendant of Damos, a girl named Sheena, is protecting the ruins of Michiina with a man called Kevin as it is their duty to return the "Jewelled Orb of Life" to Arceus when it's set to awake. Ash and co. soon arrive to Michiina while travelling through Sinnoh when they get trapped in a water tornado. Sheena sees this and prays to Dialga who appears and stops the tornado. Sheena takes Ash and co. to the ruins and explains the different dimensions that Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina live in. But soon all three appear and begin battling each other and destroy the ruins, and awakens Arceus before it should have...
