It has been announced that the TFG (Trading Figure Game) is being discontinued. An the administrator of PokeBeach known as the "Water Pokemon Master" had contacted the head of Pokemon Organized Play, Dave Schwimmer, who confirmed this:

The Pokemon Company International has no plans for the release of future sets of the Pokemon Trading Figure Game (TFG). Thank you for your support of the Pokemon TFG, we hope you continue to have fun playing the game, as well as other Pokémon products.

The planned expansion for the TFG, Groundbreakers, will not be coming out because of this.

To be honest, I kind of expected this as a possibility to happen. TFG's are hard to have work, especially if you're known for TCG. Yu-Gi-Oh! tried to do it wit Dungeon Dice Monsters but that too eventually got shoved away. So sadly, Pokemon's TFG was going to follow suit. However I am going to miss the little figures of the Pokemon, they looked quite cool (if not fragile).

Well, with all of the Pokemon and trainer designs out there, they would've definitely had their work cut out for them had they continued.

I've heard of the TFG but never bought any of the sets. I'm not really surprised that they're discontinuing it; it seemed like the type of thing that wouldn't last long.

That is why I collected some of the Pokemon TFG and Dungeon Dice Monsters before they were discontinued.
