    You don't need to have watched all 400+ episodes! He has kept his extra pokemon at Oak's Lab since the very first season!

    Hmmm.. I don't think Haunter should be counted as one of Ash's pokemon, since he never officially 'caught' him. The ghostly prankster just tagged along for one episode to cause mischief for Ash and friends.
