    This has to do with the anime, but I didn't feel the need to make a whole new thread. So here I am, asking Pikachu the expert (or whoever knows the answer).

    So, remember in the original series, when guns, bombs, and in general more violence occured? Now looking at Diamond and Pearl, there were no instances (that I can remember) where there was any sort of "real" danger. Why is this? Also I haven't seen from roughly season 2 through 7, so I don't know about those episodes. Did the writers choose to scale down the violent aspect of the show knowing that other countries would dub it? I'm just curious.

    Though it being dubbed and aired internationally probably have something to do with it, you can also look at it as how it all fits into the Pokemon world. Think about it, you have elemental creatures with untold power at your disposal who will do anything you tell them usually without question... why would you need guns and bombs? In the beginning of the 8th moves (Pokemon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew) showed as a huge scene of two armies of Pokemon clad in armor about ready to level the landscape. Pokemon Battles as we see them are "civilized", though the Pokemon bash each other pretty hard as soon as they faint they're consider done and the trainer returns them. However, as shown in the 1st movie, Pokemon can battle to the death and it's not a pretty picture. And while Ash (or in the games your playable character) defeats the big bad by knocking out their Pokemon, do you think if the big bad won they would let you live now that the hero is defenseless and has proven to be a major threat to their plan?

    Actually, it's got more to do with the dub in fact. In an interview from a while ago they mentioned that the only reason Tracey was even made was because they thought Brock would be seen badly in America and other countries so, yeah. Pretty much ever since they found out the series was going to be international they decided to play it safe for the world.

    EDIT: Oh and thank you Pikachu!

    Yeah, I guess I wasn't really being specific. For example, Team Rocket, you know... in the "Here Comes the Squirtle Squad!" (which I absolutely love) Team Rocket has those huge guns when they enter the store and I believe they drop bombs. Furthermore, in the "Case of the K-9 Caper!" the guy in the beginning had a gun, and Pikachu saw it and didn't want to attack. My question is why do these episodes have guns etc, and now suddenly none are shown?

    My guess was that since the writers knew the show would be dubbed, they scaled it down to not show guns. I mean, it's not a huge deal, I was just curious to know why the sudden change in the style of the episodes occured.

    I have a few questions and I hope I don't have to hear anymore whiny from Youtube comments:

    How old is Ash really? (Inorging the 13 years this series is on, but how long he has traveled in each region)

    Pokemon Black and White related question: How can Bianca be a **** and a weak trainer when she started off the same day as Cheren and the Player? (Want to know because I don't like my friend whiny every time Bianca appears (He's 22 you see)(He found it funny her dad appeared, laughing at the sad moment, Emotion event)

    Old Question of mine: The 8th gym Puzzle, how do I do it (Got Diamond before Black)

    Really want to know because I can't stand the whiny fans I get from the anime (Black & White/Best Wishes included)One review of Black and White anime drove me to the edge (not yours Pikachu, I like yours)

    1. Ash is 10 and he'll remain 10 until the series either ends or we move onto a new character to follow. Ignore all the mention of time ever said in the anime (including any mention of anniversaries), they don't mean a thing.

    2. Well while I don't know about the b**** part as depending on how you're using it gives it different definitions, as for the other I don't really know and I think they forgot to include something when they say "weak trainer". What I think they forgot to add was "of the three", because as you play through the game you probably have noticed that besides from Gym Leaders (which she is able to defeat), the Elite Four, the Champion, N, Ghetsis, Cynthia, and Miromoto, she and Cheren are some of the longer battles you'll face throughout the story and on multiple occasions. If they say "she's the weakest of the three" then that would make a lot more sense as the strongest is you because you're the playable character thus is competent, Cheren was set out to be the Champion so he had to train to become strong to do so, but Bianca however never really knew what she wanted to do. Bianca most likely lived a shelter life having all the decisions made for her by her father but now that she's out in the "real" world and have to make decisions for herself she doesn't know quite what to do. Throughout the game you see her saying she doesn't know what she wants to be or after being inspired by someone (like Elesa, Juniper, and I think Iris at one point) she says she wants to be just like them. Also she doesn't have a lot of confidence in herself, which probably worsens when she gets her Munna stolen by Team Plasma. Yet despite that, she's stronger then the NPCs you fight on the route and is strong enough to defeat the Gym Leaders. So I think when they say she's the "weakest" I think they mean "out of the three" because she defeated the Gym Leaders, Cheren defeated the Gym Leaders and the Elite Four, and you defeated the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champion (+ more post game).

    3. It's hard to explain it with words so just look up a walkthrough on Youtube. You don't have the read the comments, just watch the video.

    Oh yay, I meant to check the voice actors of the two new main characters. Well for Cilan it's... JASON GRIFFITH! SurprisedSurprisedSurprised WOW, I never heard him do a voice quite like Cilan's before! For those who don't know, Jason Griffith is best known as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog from 2005 to 2009. He's also the voice of Crow from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds. Finally he had voiced several Pokemon characters before, most noticeably Brawly, Tate, Looker, Sir Aaron, and Marcus. Cilan is his biggest Pokemon role yet.

    And Iris is... Eileen Stevens? According to her Bulbapedia page she hasn't really done any big roles though her prominent Pokemon roles are Jupiter, Zorua, and Lyra. Iris is her biggest Pokemon role yet.

    Which bug is better, Scolipede or Galvantula? I'd research them myself, but my college has just about every Pokemon site blocked off.

    Well let's compare:

    Pokemon: Scolipede
    http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/9/9b/Spr_5b_545.png
    Type: Bug/Poison
    Ability:

    * Poison Point: If user is hit my a Physical move, there is a 30% chance the attacking opponent will become Poisoned.
    * Swarm:
    - In Battle: If user has 1/3 or less of its max HP, Bug-type moves power increase by 1.5x.
    - Outside Battle: If leading the party, Wild Pokemon encounters increase.
    * (Hidden Ability) Quick Feet:
    - In Battle: If user is inflicted by a status ailment, Speed increases by 50%. Speed decrease from Paralysis does not happen.
    - Outside Battle: If leading the party, Wild Pokemon encounters decrease.
    Weakness (2x):
    Flying, Rock, Fire, & Psychic
    Resistance (.5x):
    Poison & Bug

    Resistance (.25x):
    Fighting & Grass

    Stats:
    * HP: 60
    * Attack: 90
    * Defense: 89
    * Special Attack: 55
    * Special Defense: 69
    * Speed: 112
    * Total: 475
    Learnset:

    * Leveling Up:
    Rock-type Rollout rolls over Flying- and Fire-types (especially if you had done Defense Curl the turn before) & Dark-type Pursuit chases away Psychic-types. In addition to that it learns Bug-type moves Megahorn, Bug Bite, and Steamroller which it gets STAB (making Megahorn extremely deadly and the other two still considerably powerful) and in addition to that it creeps out Psychic-types. Only worth wild Poison-type moves are Poison Tail and Venoshock and that's after you apply STAB. Other noteworthy moves would be Normal-type Rock Climb and Double Edge & Status moves Protect, Toxic, Agility, and Baton Pass.
    * TM/HM:
    Grass-type SolarBeam shines away Rock-types (remember if you use Sunny Day you won't have to wait a turn for SolarBeam to charge); Ground-type Earthquake, Dig, & Bulldoze bury Rock- and Fire-types; Rock-type Rock Tomb and Rock Slide entraps Flying- and Fire-types; Dark-type Payback punishes Psychic-types; Steel-type Gyro Ball spins around Rock-types; & Fighting-type Rock Smash breaks apart Rock-types. Other noteworthy moves are Bug-type X-Scissor (STAB plus Psychic weakness); Poison-type Sludge Bomb and Poison Jab (STAB), Normal-type Hyper Beam, Frustration, Return, Facade, Round, Giga Impact, and Strength; Type-dependent Hidden Power (suggested types would be Rock, Ground, and Water); & Status moves Double Team, Rest, Attract, Swords Dance, Swagger, and Substitute.
    * Breeding:
    Not much, there's Bug-type Twineedle (STAB plus Psychic weakness); Normal-type Take Down; & Status moves Spikes and Toxic Spikes.
    * Prior Evolution:
    It can learn Status move Iron Defense when it's a Whirlipede.

    Pokemon: Galvantula
    http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/f/f5/596.png
    Type: Bug/Electric
    Ability:
    * Compoundeyes:
    - In Battle: Raises Accuracy by 30%.
    - Outside Battle: If leading the party, chances of encountering a Pokemon holding an item increases by 50%.
    * Unnerve: Opponent is unable to eat any held Berries.
    * (Hidden Ability) Swarm:
    - In Battle: If user has 1/3 or less of its max HP, Bug-type moves power increase by 1.5x.
    - Outside Battle: If user is leading the party, Wild Pokemon encounters increase.
    Weakness (2x):Rock & Fire
    Resistance (.5x): Fighting, Steel, Grass, & Electric
    Stats:
    * HP: 70
    * Attack: 77
    * Defense: 60
    * Special Attack: 97
    * Special Defense: 60
    * Speed: 108
    * Total: 472
    Learnset:
    * Leveling Up:
    Nothing to battle weaknesses here. There is Bug-type Fury Cutter, Bug Bite, Signal Beam, and Bug Buzz (STAB); Electric-type Electroweb, Electro Ball, and Discharge (STAB); Normal-type Slash; Dark-type Sucker Punch; and Status moves Spider Web, Thunder Wave, Gastro Acid, and Agility.
    * TM/HM:
    Grass-type Energy Ball pulverizes Rock-types... and that's all Galvantula has to protect itself from it's weaknesses (sort of). We also have Bug-type X-Scissor (STAB); Electric-type Thunderbolt, Thunder (plus Rain Dance), Charge Beam, Volt Switch, and Wild Charge (STAB); Normal-type Hyper Beam, Frustration, Return, Facade, Round, and Giga Impact; Poison-type Poison Jab; Type-dependent Hidden Power (suggested types would be Rock or Ground); and Status moves Toxic, Light Screen, Protect, Double Team, Rest, Attract, Flash, Swagger, and Substitute.
    * Breeding:
    Not much, there's Poison-type Cross Poison; Dark-type Faint Attack; Normal-type Rock Climb; and Status move Disable.

    FINAL CHOICE:
    Scolipede
    http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/9/9b/Spr_5b_545.png
    Though it doesn't have a unique type combination, from the moves it has the stats given it's the better choice of the two bugs. Scolipede is faster and defensive stats are better then Galvantula and its Attack stat is almost equal to Galvantuala's Special Attack stat. Either of Scolipede's Abilities will serve you well or at least better then Galvantula (except fr Hidden Ability). You can still choose Galvantula if you want a Bug- and Electric-type on your team wrapped up into one Pokemon, but a better Electric-type choice would either by Zebstrika or Eelektross.

    If I received a hacked Pokemon over the GTS and bred it to produce an egg, is the offspring of the hacked Pokemon considered fake?

    Also, this doesn't count as double-posting does it?
