Got Kyurem. Sad part is I had less trouble catching it than I did a Metang on the way to catching it

See, this is why the game needs the VS Seeker. My team are all level 48, I want them to be at least 50 before I fight the League so my Deino will at least be a Zweilous. But all I've got to train against are four trainers a day in the sports halls & the triple battles, amounting to gaining about two levels for the whole team.

Perhaps, but at this point of the game it's useless. The highest levelled one I'd be able to find would be 12 levels lower than my team, and being wild, it would give an intolerable amount of experience. On top of that it's extremely unreliable, only appearing when you happen to see a patch of shaking grass. Even then, on Route 10, it's only got an 80% chance of showing up, and unless it's on the very edge of the grass I'd need to use a Repel just to reach it.

Might be helpful early on in the game, but when you're waiting to go up against the League it's no good.

No, that area has the same location data as Route 10, I've checked.

Drayden was tough, knocking me down to my last pokemon. (I left Simisear, Swanna, and Zebstrika in PC to make it more interesting) Stoutland lost to Fraxure since Drayden went Potion happy on it. Samurott beat Fraxure. Then I switched in Vanilluxe to beat Druddigon. Then I switched back to Samurott against Haxorus, it got knocked out. Then Vanilluxe finished off Haxorus and gave me my final Legend Badge.

Made it to Victory Road and past the awesome Badge Check Gate. Had no trouble training my entire team up to level 51 and teaching em a few new moves.

@Psyduck Ranger: Yeah raising a Hydreigon is no simple task. I barely found the patience to level grind at twist mountain way back when and allowed it to take all experience for itself at Iris/Drayden's gym and that was just over enough to make it a level 54 Zweilous. In the end, I was sitting in the back during my free period for the week in school so I just said,"Eff it" and level grinded it to level 63, and got it to 64 on victory road, but once you get it to Hydriegon it's SO worth it. It'll basically curbstomp everything that isn't at least level 70. If you're really having that much trouble training it, then I recommend trading it to an already beaten 5th gen game and training at the Giant Chasm. Thanks to it's move pool it can deal a lot of damage there.

It comes from my White originally, I bred Ice & Thunder Fang onto it. Since I got it there I trained it up to level 45 at the stadia before trading it to Black I also got my Golett there, so I could have it early (you see one in a trainer fight at Celestial Tower). Should have raised that up a bit. Ne'er mind.

Incidentally, my full team on Black currently is Hamlet (Excadrill), Yorick (Whimsicott), Ophelia (Larvesta), Horatio (Beartic), Laertes (Golurk) and Fortinbras (Deino).

Horatio is a good name for a polar bear.

Not enough then. I've encountered plenty of them over 40 there.

Keep in mind Pokemon you encounter in dark grass (a.k.a. the grass where wild double battles can occur) are at slightly higher levels then Pokemon encountered in plain grass.

I've checked both Bulbapedia & Serebii and neither of them make any mention of it. Serebii even has every route listed individually with minimum & maximum levels. Maximum in any pre-League area is 36, then there's a jump up to 47, which is of course in post-League areas only.

Neither site even makes mention of the gates as a location, going from route 10 to Victory Road. When you cross between the first gate and the rest of Route 10 no location name shows up either way, but when you leave the gate to Victory Road it does pop up to say that's where you are. I've even searched around to find other sites in case somewhere did mention it, and the only place I could find that even mentioned it was a page on Yahoo Canada Answers (not exactly the most reputable source of information, but there you go), and it entirely agreed with me.

I found a dozen Audino and countless other Pokémon besides, and everything I found just backed up what I'm saying now, and what the fansites say.

Doesn't factor into it, we're talking about shaking grass, different ball game entirely.

No, none of them are exactly great. I used Samurott in White, partly due to a lack of decent Water types (seriously, in their haste to improve Fire and a few other types, feels like they've neglected Water), and it still doesn't really fit with my team.

I MIGHT use Emboar in Grey, but it's awfully slow, and hasn't got a great movepool, the only moves it has that make it stand out from its peers are Wild Charge - which due to it having Rock moves it would only use only Water types, and pitting it against a Water type is suicide - and Scald, which, whilst 100 isn't too bad of a stat, is a waste of its Attack. Not to mention I'm yet to use Darmanitan.

As for Serperior...what a joke. Both its attack stats are awful, and it has no movepool. With Contrary you could construct a gimmick set with Leaf Storm, but that'd involve getting it via Dream World, not as a starter, and it won't be possible to get it from the Dream World in Black & White as none of its line have overworld sprites programmed in, which it'd need to show up in Entralink.

IMO Serperior is the best starter this gen, sure it's only gonna be useful during the main story, but goddamn that thing can take hits and the improved Giga Drain is wonderful.

I feel this Generation of Starter's final evos not to have the best of stats as it feels like they emphasized the wrong stats.

Okay, at least if i can Paraly-IT'SHALFGROUND. ...and it seems to know sandstorm, fissure and earthquake. Jason is immune to most, only Rock Slide hit. Already at a very low red.

...it eventually destroyed my team. Gonna retry over and over..

Caught it on the second try, and caught Kyurem on the first one.

Hydreigon was pretty strong. Once I evolved Zweilous and trained it a little, I basically curbstomped the game. And the legendaries were rather easy to catch surprisingly. Wonder what they'll do with the inevitable 3rd game.
