You know the deal with Brock, he's just there so Ash and the female companion don't starve or get lost. Though Happiny or Croagunk would have made a good Pokemon for him. Depends if they were going for cute or popular Pokemon.

On the tool kit on the top of the page, you'll see a capital "A" with grey under it and an arrow pointing down. Click on that arrow and a color box should appear. From there, you can do the following:

    1. Select a color and whatever you write there on will be that color until you change the color.
    2. Highlight text you want colored, select a color, and only what is highlighted will be colored.

There isn't an "A". I remember seeing it before the New Format Change but I don't see it. I just wish Brock's Pokemon would have more air time.

On the rooftop of the Lilycove Department Store in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, as well as the building in-between Canavave City and Route 218 in Diamond and Pearl, there's a man who keeps complaining about how thirsty he is. Unlike Red, Blue, and Yellow, (and Fire Red and Leaf Green too, I think) however, where you have to give a drink to a guard to pass into Saffron City, you apparently can't give anything to these poor thirsty fellows, even if you have Fresh Water, Soda, Lemonade, or Moo-Moo Milk... or am I wrong? Because I can't find a way to give them any drinks. (and maybe receive a reward in return)

There is no way to give the thirsty character in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. This is just a reference to Generation I, and serves no other purpose besides that.

32, if you count all of the pokemon he has released, traded away, or once owned, but excluding evolutions, unofficially owned pokemon like Haunter and Larvitar, and rented pokemon. Bulbapedia has a full detailed list of all of Ash's pokemon, as well as other facts about him. Just enter his name in the search engine, and click "Ash Ketchum", and you'll get a full rundown of all of the details.

Ash had officially caught 58 Pokemon:

    Pikachu | Staravia | Turtwig | Chimchar | Gliscor | Aipom

    Bulbasaur | Kingler | Muk | Tauros (x30) | Snorlax | Heracross

    Cyndaquil | Bayleef | Totodile | Noctowl (Shiny) | Donphan | Corphish

    Sceptile | Torkoal | Swellow | Glalie | Primape | Squirtle

    Charizard | Butterfree | Pidgeot | Lapras | Beedrill

Want to find out more? Click HERE for Ash's Bulbapedia page.

BONUS: Sometimes Bulbapedia edits some sprites to make them match for the character's Pokemon they are representing. There are 3 of these above, can you find them?

Squirtle's glasses, Sceptile's twig, and Butterfree's ribbon. Easy. ...Hold on, Pikachu315111, Buizel's not in that list! ... And neither is Raticate.

Because Ash didn't catch them, he trade for them. He traded Butterfree for Raticate in EP015 "Battle Aboard the St. Anne", but decided to trade back. As for Buizel, Ash traded Aipom to Dawn for it.

Oh, yeah, I guess I was thinking about officially owned and caught as the same thing. And Ash of course "officially" owns Buizel, and he also owned Ratticate, even though it was just for a few hours.

    Bulbapedia is located here: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/

It's not the easiest address to remember, so most of the time I go to Google, type "Bulbapedia", and the first link they give me is Bulbapedia.

P.S. - Woot! My topic got pinned, I think this is my first pinned topic. Hopefully this will bring on the questions!

Hopefully it will bring the "Good" questions because some of these questions are rather stupid. Its even more moronic when a Thread is made that could have easily gone here. I won't point fingers but there are dumb questions in some Page in this Thread. But thanks anyways, I had changed back into the usual Labtop but the Website isn't working for some reason.

I'm glad this thread got pinned. Hopefully now, more people will notice it and stop making pointless new topics that push the more important ones out of sight.

Now here's something that's been bothering me for a long time: There have been a lot of flashbacks in the show featuring pokemon from generation two and onward; and events that happend way before Ash started his journey to become a Pokemon Master. In EP007 - Mystery at the Lighthouse, Bill said that 150 pokemon were known at the time. But certain flashbacks like the one at the beginning of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew (one that I particularly remember) happend before pokeballs were even created (according to the narrator) and showed tons of pokemon from generation two onward, including Lucario, of course. So here's the question: How do the writers explain all of these pokemon appearances before Ash started his journey if they "weren't even known about at the time". I know that the pokemon weren't created back then, but they just leave all of these plot holes open, so when those flashbacks happen, they have all of the little kids going "Huh? That pokemon wasn't even known about back then!" (I hpoe I made my point clear...)

If it is the Dub, obviously it might not be true. That's just what I think, but I'll let Pikachu315111 answer it.

There is no easy way to answer this. Basically anything said in Generation I shouldn't be taken literal. True Bill said there was 150 known Pokemon at that time, but at that time the writers didn't know in what directions they were taking Pokemon, at that time Generation II might have been an idea. If you remember correctly, when Ash went through the Battle Frontier Pokemon from Generation II and III were seen all over Kanto, however only the original 150 Pokemon should have been in Kanto unless owned by a Trainer.

I guess the easiest way to explain this is that a new generation comes in, it sometimes overlaps older information we were told before and over-writes it.
