Nintendo President Satoru Iwata believes that Pokémon fans will look forward to viewing their Pokémon in 3D when the new Pokémon game is released for the new handheld console.

Iwata revealed that a new Pokémon game is coming to 3DS last week and while he hasn't given much away about the new game, he did say that there will be features that work well in 3D and others that will be fine in 2D.

"Naturally, we expect 3D viewing to become one of the attractions when the new Pokémon title is released on Nintendo 3DS, but a number of other attractions, which do not depend upon the 3D aspect, shall also be realised. I have no hesitation about the prospect that a Pokémon-franchise title will be released for Nintendo 3DS."

*Sigh* Well I've had my DS for a few good years and while I'll probably have it for at least one or two more, I think the time is coming for me to trade it in for a 3DS.

So... the day the new pokemon comes out i'll buy it with a 3DS, Ocarina of Time 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising and maybe another title that is sure to be awesome and come out in the year(s) between the 3DS and the next pokemon.

First a new Super Mario Bros. game on the 3DS, now Pokemon. I feel there should be some trainer customization, and not the bland kind in PBR. With the cameras, we can put our own face on our trainer char so it's really us and not some default chars that everyone uses.

This. Ever since Saphire Version, I wished I could make my own character design(i.e. skin color, clothing, hair, hat, etc.). Hopefully the day will come soon.

That would be seriously creepy, and would go completely against Pokémon's style of animation...

Honestly, with the plethora of features Pokémon offers, particularly in the customisable options, I'm really not bothered about what my character's wearing. So long as they continue to wear hats I'm fine.

For me, it's not so much the clothes, just the diversity of what character type you can pick, kind of like in Pokemon Battle Revolution(of course not in CGI but just to be able to alter your character a little bit, just enough to suit you.) I'm not really bothered by the standard trainers though, as I think the guy from Black and White looks pretty cool.

Well Pokemon.com now gives member an avatar to customize. Admittedly the clothing are either of Pokemon, important NPCS (like Gym Leaders), syndicate uniforms (like Team Rocket), and normal NPCS you battle, however they do let you choose your skin color and hair color (and while thye don't have the whole rainbow, they do provide I think a good selection of both normal and anime (like Blue) colors). There's also backgrounds and accessories but obviously you won't have those in the games. If they work on it a bit they could actually have something that could be put into games, though then again I scanned the Japanese website and don't find this feature there so...

    http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d6/Icirrus_City.png
Dragon Spiral Tower is now Dragonspiral Tower.
    http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/4/4b/Dragonspiral_Tower.png

Oh, and to comment on the make character names... huh? I know Blair is a gender-neutral name, but I would have something more masculine like a Blake (yay, they used Blake for the villain in the Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Sign games, but that's a different series of games) and for the girl how about something like Whitley (not Whitney, Whitley).

I think Whitlea is supposed to be pronounced as Whitley anyway...that'd be my guess...

Incidentally, whilst Bulbapedia and others may not have yet accepted it, have we pointed out that Serebii has accepted the list that was floating around as being the complete list of Pokémon names?

Yep, that list might as well be official. New videos floating around GameFAQs confirm Tabunne, Denchura, and Ononokus as Audino, Galvantula, and Haxorus.

Ah, some of these names just aren't as good! Horn Leech? Eh, nothing on Wood Horn. Scald!? Come on, Boiling Water!

I never quite got why Canon was called/translated as Canon...

    I like Pinwheel Forest though
