Starring is when the said Pokemon defeats the Gym Leader's/Rivals/Important Trainers Main Pokemon..... Chimchar defeated Byron's Bronzor & Steelix, but Gliscor took down Bastiodon, so Gliscor starred there, not Chimchar, so its technically 3.... -_-

Is Pikachu getting WEAKER? He uses Iron tail on Luxuray over and over but nothing. Luxaray does one little attack and Pikachu goes down. WTF?

And what about Torterra? They made him completely weak in this episode. Almost thought the Ape was going to attack Ash. Glad to see the little smirk

it was supposed to focus on infernape so of course they didnt do much

although I hoped the fight would have been a two parter with ash using pikachu, torterra, infernape and gible

    against volkner's team (plus raichu)

    alas..

It was SUPPOSED to focus on Infernape? They had tons of other times to focus on the ape and they have been doing that for the last main battles. Atleast, they could've done it in a way where Ash's others two pokemon seem weak.

Is Static supposed to have an effect on electric pokemon? Plus with Motor Drive, it shouldn't effect it......should it?

he didnt even use static in this episode...

and yes it does since motor drive only activates when hit by electric "Attacks" not abilities

What do you think Pikachu was doing? Attacking it with yellow ribbons?

Pikachu caused Motor Drive to activitate and then Static kicked in which negates Motor Drive?

Or since its an electric type not be affected by Static?

    ------------------------------

Speaking of which, SHOULD a ghost type move be effected by a fighting move? Like when Mach Punch was used against Shadow Ball. I know the anime has its own rules but still seems wrong.

Ugh...the very first round of the tournament will feature Ash vs. Nando. Ash using Staraptor and Nando using Roserade. It's unknown how many total pokemon they are using though. This kind of sucks since it means that Nando is losing in the very first round.

    Maybe this clarifies a little:

Ash's opponent in the first battle round is Nando, the Pokémon minstrel. He is a talent who also entered the Grand Festival and had a fierce battle against Zoey. Nando, specialized in Bug and Grass types, sends out Roserade as his first Pokémon. Ash sends out Staraptor who has a type advantage.

But it is Nando and Roserade who take the initiative first. With their unique rhythm and strategy, they attack in angry waves Staraptor is unable to grasp. Ash, knowing that losing his first Pokémon in this short battle would create a huge disadvantage for him, becomes hasty. And then, the match makes an unexpected development.

    Or Nando could lose......

    not

Maybe they have 3 rounds like earlier and even if Nando lost, he has a chance to win his other 2 and get back and face Ash in the finales.

Well, I lasted for a while and that's saying something. Unfortunately, my curiosity got the better of me and I ended up seeing Ash's eighth gym battle. Oh, well, perhaps it was for the best seeing as how I knew about the other seven. I don't know much about the episodes between this and the battle they had where Grotle evolved, and I think it would be best I keep it that way. So far, the only new episodes I know about are the upcoming episode which I don't intend to see and the episode that SPD announced a while ago. You know, the way things are going, Ash might get his chance at the Elite Four yet. It's the least they can do for Ash after the achievement they've given Dawn.

You mean season. The series is still going. I just hope that Ash and Pikachu will be going to the next region. I've been feeling a bit uncomfortable about that rumor that Dawn and Piplup would be taking center stage.

Incidentally, who says that they can't cram a battle with the Elite Four into the amount of time they have left? Hey, I just realized that Ash might actually win the league. Think about it. The chances of Berry and Conway beating Ash are slim to none, and I just know that the writers are going to give Ash is well-deserved victory over Paul before this is over, so that means that Nando was the most likely to be the one to beat Ash. Since Ash is fighting Nando now and is obviously going to win, it means that Ash might just win the league this time!
